The “A Place at the Table” series, produced in conjunction with the MOHAI exhibit, details the history of Greek-owned and operated restaurants in Washington state from 1900 to 2020. Through historical photographs and interviews with restauranteurs, the series uses the lens of food to tell the stories not just of Greek immigrants and Greek-Americans, but of Washington as a whole. The ever-changing culture surrounding food offers us an important peek into how Greeks have existed in their own communities, in the communities around them, and how perceptions of food and people have shifted over time.
